Mount 810230-20 Mars Unit to 610498 Adapter Plate

- Connect the male side of the 830296 Adapter Cable to the 5-pin M12 port on the left side of the 810230-20 Mars Unit, as shown below.
- Tighten the cable to prevent moisture ingress.
Remove Older Mars from Mounting Surface
- Remove the M12 cables from your 810230-01 or -10 Mars unit
- Remove the 810230-01 or -10 Mars Unit from its mounting surface
Place 810230-20 Mars on Mounting Surface
- Mount the 810230-20 Mars Unit and 610498 Adapter Plate on the same footprint as the previously installed 810230-01 or -10 Mars Unit.
- If not done already, connect the male side of the 830296 Adapter Cable to the 5-pin M12 port on the left side of the 810230-20 Mars Unit, as shown below right.
- Connect your existing M12 power/RS485 8-pin cable (830256-xxx) to the female side of the 830296 Adapter Cable, as shown below left.
Complete Assembly
- Your complete installation should look similar to the example shown below, with the large aluminum plate representing your existing mounting structure.
Configure Communication Settings
- Your new Mars unit must be configured for the communication settings at your site.
- For current-model 810230-20 units (HW rev 01, 810230-20-01) as of August 2023:
- During the first 60 minutes after power-on, connect to the device's Wi-Fi network from your laptop PC. Launch the device's user interface according to the User Guide. Follow configuration instructions in the User Guide, or contact Atonometrics for instructions.
- Note: if the device has been powered for more than 60 minutes, disconnect and reconnect the power cable in order to restart the Wi-Fi network for configuration.
- Note: Optionally, during configuration you may use Configuration Kit 810276 to power the device rather than your installed power cable.
- Some early-model 810230-20 units (HW rev 00) include Ethernet functionality. For these units:
- Connect the 830261 M12/RJ45 cable included in Configuration Kit 810276 between the Mars M12 Ethernet port and your laptop PC's RJ45 Ethernet port. Configure your PC's Ethernet settings to communicate with the Mars unit and launch the user interface. Contact Atonometrics for directions.
- Note: Optionally, during configuration you may use Configuration Kit 810276 to power the device rather than your installed power cable.
